Pre-Election Testing of Voting Machines
MOTION: DIRECT STAFF TO BEGIN TO DEVELOP ADMINISTRATIVE RULES FOR PRE-ELECTION TESTING AND PRE-RECOUNT TESTING OF VOTING EQUIPMENT. Pre-election testing is often called Logic and Accuracy testing, or L&A. In Wisconsin, L&A testing is the best way to promote accuracy of the machine count. Other methods such as manual recounts or audits before certification are rarely done in Wisconsin. Fair Elections Wisconsin is encouraging people to observe the pre-election tests of the voting machines. Purposes:
